Description:  This 4-week senior medical student rotation will enable students interested in Med-Peds residency training the opportunity to practice intern-level care in both inpatient Internal Medicine and Pediatric settings.  The student will function as a member of the Pediatric Inpatient health care team, carrying a maximum load of four (4) patients for two weeks, followed by two weeks on the Internal Medicine Medical Teaching Service. Night call is every fourth night. Students work with the interns, residents and GHS faculty. Education material is presented via attending rounds, didactic lectures, sub specialty lectures, weekly grand rounds, resident case presentations, round  with residents, clinical pathologic conferences and small group discussions. In addition to Pediatric and Internal Medicine conferences, the students are also expected to attend the twice monthly Med-Peds resident conferences.  These assignments offer an opportunity for students to learn and experience practical clinical medicine on a general ward service.  Grades will be determined based on faculty and resident evaluations.
