Course Offered:  At selected times throughout the academic year

Number of Students:  2 at PHR and 4 at DVAMC

Students Report To:  PHR - Cardiac Cath Lab, 7:00 a.m.
DVAMC - Fourth Floor Cardiology Office, 8:15 a.m.

This course will provide clinical experience in the care of cardiac problems. The student will participate in cardiology consultation, interpretations of electrocardiograms and echocardiograms, and will be exposed to nuclear cardiology. There will be exposure to cardiac catheterization and cardiopulmonary bypass surgery at PHR, and exposure to a cardiac catheterization lab and cath conferences at DVAMC. The student will attend all teaching conferences. Coronary care unit rounds will be made regularly at DVAMC. The student will be directly supervised by attending faculty.
