The objective of this elective is to provide clinical exposure to the problems commonly encountered in pediatric gastroenterology, nutrition and hepatology; especially chronic abdominal pain , diarrhea and constipation, vomiting, gastroesophageal reflux, hepatitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, malabsorption and failure to thrive, pancreatitis and inflammatory bowel disease, among others. Students will participate in patient encounters in the clinics and hospital, in rounds and in procedures in the G.I. Laboratory and operating rooms.
